Broglie
In the green Norman valley of the Charentonne river, wander around Broglie, a charming typically Norman little town.
St Martin Church, a harmonious blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture with a surprising "grison" stone facade, the water garden of the Fresnay Watermill, the picturesque charm of old houses lining up the streets, the Charentonne Greenway for walks and rides, etc.: Broglie is indeed a pretty little town. It is also the home town of the scientist Augustin Fresnel and of François-Léonor Mérimée, the father of Prosper Mérimée. The name "Broglie" has two different pronunciations, whether it refers to the Duke's family or to the current town, which used to be the Duchy belonging to this family.
